Our interview with Earl Locke, the Area Director of McGillicuddy’s

This week we interviewed Earl Locke, the Area Director of McGillicuddy’s. Enjoy!

Q: How did you first begin working at McGillicuddy’s?

A: “I’ve been with McGillicuddy’s for about 8 and a half years. I was the GM of Colchester when we opened that location. I actually used to go to the Williston one as a customer once in a while, and I heard that Dave Nelson, the owner, was opening another place. I was interested in getting into this type of business. I kind of pursued him and the rest is history!”

Q: Favorite dish on the menu and why?

A: “I really like our wings! When I watch football on Sundays here, I like to have wings…We always have a nice variety of sauces. The turkey avocado BLT is one of my favorites–it’s just a tasty sandwich. The crispy maple chicken sandwich is really good. Actually, one of our longtime cooks Tyler Audette came up with that one and it’s been a hit!”

Q: Favorite drink on the menu and why?

A: “I love craft beer, and all of our locations have a variety of craft beer on tap. There’s always something new and fun to try. Most of the locations have anywhere from 28-40 lines, so that would be my favorite beverage!”

Q: Can you tell me a fun fact about McGillicuddy’s?

A: “The logo was the owner’s dog! His name was Shamrock and that’s how the logo came about when he started the company almost 30 years ago.”

Q: When you’re not eating at McGillicuddy’s, where do you go to eat?

A: “I don’t really go out too much because I work a lot but I do like going to American Flatbread downtown…I love their flatbread and I love their beer. I also like the Pour House on Williston Road! I love going to brunch there.”
